Ismael was also one of the founders of the bloco Deixa Falar, considered the precursor to the first samba school. After a period of seclusion in the 1930s, Ismael Silva returned to the Rio scene only in the 1950s, facing great financial difficulties. However, his recognition as an authentic sambista gradually solidified, and the 1973 album, entitled Se Você Jurar, emerged as a landmark of his return and the celebration of his work during this period.
