Critics highlighted D2's ability to create a cohesive and innovative record, which indicated the direction for Brazilian hip-hop to free itself from the 'North American straitjacket'. The album was a commercial success, selling over 150,000 copies and being certified as a gold record by Pro-Música Brasil in 2005. Its impact was recognised in various lists of best albums, such as 'Os 10 melhores CDs brasileiros' and 'Dez álbuns que mapeiam a década' from the Virgula website, and it was voted one of the best Brazilian music records of the last 40 years in an O Globo newspaper poll. Retrospectively, the Nação da Música website described it as the album where D2 'richly explored the fusions of samba and rap'. As proof of its lasting relevance, the album was released on streaming platforms in 2024 and, in January 2025, received its first vinyl edition, with a translucent green colour, via the Noize Record Club label.
