Before Caminhada, Marília Medalha had already released significant albums, including collaborations with Vinicius de Moraes and Toquinho, such as Como Dizia o Poeta (1971) and Marília-Vinicius (1972). Although her career in the 1970s did not experience the same rise as other artists of the time, Caminhada represents an important moment in her discography during that period.

Recording

The album Caminhada was recorded in 1973 and released by the RGE label. The production and all the arrangements for the record were handled by guitarist Rosinha de Valença, who also had an important role playing the guitar. String arrangements were orchestrated by Maestro Edson Frederico.
