Context
The Show Opinião performance, which gave rise to the album, premiered on 11 December 1964, just a few months after the military coup that established the dictatorial regime in Brazil. The production was the result of a collaboration between Teatro de Arena and members of the Centro Popular de Cultura da UNE, an institution that, by then, had already been outlawed by the new government, highlighting the context of repression and censorship in which the work was conceived.

The album Show Opinião is the phonographic record of the eponymous performance, which had a total duration of 45 minutes and 47 seconds.
